Hello, my name is McKenzie Riley, and I am excited to tell you that I have been crowned Miss Rancho San Diego Teen 2007. So far my reign has been beyond what I could have imagined. I entered the pageant not even knowing anything really about pageants itself! I convinced my parents to let me enter at the last minute. This whole experience has been indescribable starting with the day of the pageant. The adrenaline rush of going on stage and doing your impromptu question is nerve racking but fulfilling knowing you did it to the best of your ability and not to mention getting crowned that night! I have made lifelong friends with my fellow queens.
Being able to put on my crown and banner every week and help out in the community is very rewarding. My favorite part is getting to know the people in my community and seeing them every week, plus doing all of these events with your best friends. My favorite event so far has defiantly been the Lions, Tigers and Bears event, there we got to pet and hang out with baby lions! They were so adorable.
I want to thank Andrea for being an amazing director, and Ivanka, Allie and Amanda my year has been so amazing so far because of you girls and if it were different people chosen I don't know what I would have done! Last but not least I would love to thank the city of El Cajon and the CDC for always having events for us to help out at. It is a joy to be able to serve in my community.
